The most important part of adding a new puppy to your family is making a final decision about what breeder you would like to work with. We have tailored our puppy process to be a smooth, streamlined, stress-free experience for you and your family.
Deposits & Future Litters
We plan litters about a year in advance. Although it isn't an exact science on predicting when a litter will be born, we keep excellent records and can provide a good estimate of expected timeframes. All our deposits are $200, and your order on the waitlist is determined by the order in which deposits are received. Once a specific litter is posted on our Upcoming Litters page, waitlist spots tend to fill up very quickly. If you know you want a Good Dog Doodle, the best thing to do is reserve a spot on our master waitlist. We always give those waiting on our master waitlist first priority before available spots for specific upcoming litters posted. For example, we have two planned litters for Fall/Winter 2021 - once we are closer to posting those upcoming litters, we will reach out in order of deposits to everyone on our master list and offer them an opportunity to choose a spot on either of those litters, or to wait for a future litter. Our deposits do apply towards the final purchase price for the dog, and while they are non-refundable, you can absolutely carry a deposit forward until your perfect puppy is available.
Home Life
Puppies are born and raised in the house with their family. We think it's absolutely critical for house dogs to be raised in a house with normal household activities. Your puppy will receive Early Neurological Stimulation daily from days 3-16 of life, and will be raised following Puppy Culture Protocols. For more information about either of those programs, please message us through Facebook Messenger. We love to talk about these programs and their impact on your puppy's life!
Communication
Along the journey, you will be provided with weekly photo and/or video updates of the litter and individual puppies. We want everyone to feel like they are a part of their puppy's life from the very first day, and strive to provide a transparent and personal experience so your family can bond with the puppies and observe their personalities from Day 1. In today's world of technology, it's a sad truth that scammers and questionable practices are far too frequent, we also want to make sure we share frequent updates in various formats, so you and your family can be confident that your puppy is receiving top-of-the-line care. Selecting Your Puppy
Puppy selections occur between 4-6 weeks. The most important feature of any puppy is it's personality and temperament. We wait until this developmental stage so that we can provide good insights about each puppy's temperament and future family. It's amazing the variance in personality even within a litter. One family's perfect puppy might be active and on the go, while another family might need a puppy who is more laid back and chill. All selections are done on a weekend where we can dedicate our full attention to helping you select your puppy, and each family receives a 6-hour window to make their choice. We provide detailed photos and videos to assist with selection, and can also Facetime you with the puppies during your selection window to help you make this exciting decision!
Delivery/Pickup
Pick-up days will be announced when the puppies are 6 weeks old. Puppies remain with their Mama until they are at least 8 weeks of age. You are welcome to pick up your puppy at our home during the scheduled time. We also offer a variety of transport options including meeting you at our local airport with the puppy or utilizing the Good Dog Doodles Flight Nanny Service where we will deliver the puppy directly to your arms at an airport close to you - please reach out to us on Facebook Messenger for more information and price quotes for these services.
Guarantee
Every Good Dog Doodle comes with a two year written genetic health guarantee. We perform extensive genetic panels on every dog we add to our program to ensure they are free and clear of any hereditary health conditions. Puppies will also come home with dewclaws removed, up to date vaccinations, fully dewormed, with all health records and a written certificate of health from our veterinarian. Our puppies are examined head-to-tail by our veterinarian. Our puppies are examined head-to-tail by our veterinarian between 3-5 days of age, at 6 weeks of age, and just before leaving us at 8 weeks of age to ensure they are in tip-top shape and ready to join their new families.
Delivery/Pickup
The remaining balance for your puppy is due upon pick-up. You will see and interact with your puppy before any final payment will be accepted. In addition to all veterinary records, each puppy will come home with a care package including a sample of dog food, a collar and leash, and a blanket or toy with the mother's scent. After your puppy goes home, the Good Dog Doodles experience doesn't stop - we provide lifetime breeder support for you and your family can stay in touch with us and your puppy's littermates. We all share pictures, pupdates, and things we have learned. We love staying in contact with our Good Dog families!
